Established in 1984, Blackhill Specialist Joinery is a bespoke joinery manufacturing company based in Northern Ireland, with over 25 years experience in the design, manufacture and installation of high quality bespoke joinery products for both private customers and commercial customers across Ireland and the UK.

Blackhill Specialist Joinery liaised with the customer, the architect, the design team and all other building sub-contractors from initial instruction through to installation of Blackhill products on site. Blackhill engaged proactively with the customer to ensure a seamless service and delivery of a final product that surpassed the customers’ expectations.

Project Type: £5million Restoration of Listed 5 storey Belfast Landmark Building
Blackhill Role: Manufacture and Installation of 250 Bespoke Hardwood Casement Windows
Date: 2010
In partnership with the main contractor (H & J Martin), Blackhill Specialist Joinery manufactured and installed 250 solid hardwood windows (each measuring c. 3 metres x 1.5 metres!). The project involved “like for like” replacement of a bespoke hinged casement window system, with replacement of windows which dated back some 150 years. The windows were manufactured, painted and glazed (all work done within our factory, including use of a specific linseed oil putty), before being delivered and installed, all in line with the main contractors project works programme.

Projects range from bespoke timber staircases (spiral, curved, sweeping, flared and straight flights), timber windows and timber doors designed, manufactured and fitted for private customers, through to the production and supply of high quality timber doorsets, timber & glass screens, windows and frames on behalf of one of the many commercial clients that we supply to on a sub-contractor basis, throughout the UK and Ireland.
