Four further Co Clare schools have received funds enabling them to undertake small-scale capital works.

The Department of Education has decided to approve grant aid for the works at St. John Bosco Community College in Kildysart, Ennistymon Vocational School, Scoil na Mainistreach in Quin and Lissycasey National School.

Commenting on the nature of the works being funded, TD Tony Killeen said: "The heating system at Ennistymon Vocational School is to be upgraded, electrical works are scheduled to take place at Scoil na Mainistreach, while fencing is to be erected and a number of dangerous trees are to be removed at St. John Bosco Community College.


"Elsewhere, Lissycasey N.S. is to benefit from roof works, emergency and exit lighting, a security alarm, upgraded doors and the replacement of the sewage treatment system."

So far this year, the Department of Education and Science has announced similar funding allocations for small-scale capital projects at Ogonnelloe, Killaloe Girls Convent, Inagh, Querrin, Carron, Carrigaholt, Bodyke, Furglan, Clooney, Ballycar, Doolin Mixed, St. Conaire's Tullyvarraga, Quilty and Ruan National Schools, as well as St Joseph's Community College in Kilkee and Ennis Community College.
