€10,000 For Ros Muc Playing Pitch Works

Irish Communities Minister Éamon Ó Cuív has awarded a grant of €10,000 to enable Cumann Peile na bPiarsach, Ros Muc, to carry out improvement works on their playing pitch.

A grant of €8,333 is being sanctioned under the Gaeltacht Improvements Scheme and a grant of €1,667 under the CLÁR Programme.

Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta is being held in the area this year. The Minister said these works will help to update the facilities at the football pitch, and to ensure that they are in adequate condition to serve the crowds that are expected to attend the various competitions.


Announcing the grant, Minister Ó Cuív said that his Department has, for many years, been assisting clubs who host Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta.

He said that the Comórtas is a great incentive to upgrade facilities.

"I know that Cumann Peile na bPiarsach is a small club and I am pleased that my Department can help them carry out works that will enable them to ensure an excellent Comórtas in June," said the Minister.

"Also, the local community will benefit from the upgraded facilities long after the competition," he added.
