A personal health and fitness company has announced 20 new jobs for Ennis in County Clare, with the opening of a new gym.
Ozone Health & Fitness Ltd said the new jobs will be created over the next six weeks at the newly opened Ozone Centre in the Quin Road Business Park.
The centre contains Clare’s largest gym, seven purpose-built health suites and a multipurpose conference suite.
Centre Director Ken O'Malley: "We are delighted to announce the creation of 20 new jobs at this newly opened centre of excellence for fitness and health.
"The health suites have just been completed and will undoubtedly help us establish Ozone as a leading centre for fitness, rehabilitation and health care provision in the Mid West Region."
Mr O'Malley said that the private enterprise sector was showing the way forward regarding the development of health and fitness centres.
"Throughout the country we are seeing a huge demand for such services, which have previously been unavailable in the local community and at a reasonable cost.
"The credit collapse and the deepening recession have left many people feeling the pinch. However, the interest generated by the new centre shows that people are looking to keep fit and active ahead of the inevitable upturn in the economy."
Among the health services and treatments to be provided at the new centre are Physiotherapy, Optometry, Colon Hydrotherapy, Dental Hygiene, Massage Therapy, and Dietetic and Weight Loss.
Plans are also in place to establish a laser eye treatment clinic. Presently, people on the West of Ireland must travel to Cork, Waterford, Dublin or Belfast to undergo such treatment.
The fully air conditioned 5000 square foot gym comprises an Aerozone aerobic hall, sprung floor and state-of-the-art fitness equipment.
