Magherafelt Homes Upgraded

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive has just completed extensive modernisation works on 47 homes in Magherafelt.

The properties, located at Mullaghboy Crescent, Moyola Avenue, Drumderg Cottages and Hughes Villas, have had a range of work carried out on them.

This included the replacement of kitchen units, refurbishment of bathrooms and the installation of oil central heating.

Electrical and plumbing services have also been upgraded along with a range of internal and external repairs and general maintenance.


District Manager Eddie Doherty said: "This major improvement scheme is part of the Housing Executive's strategic approach to modernise its older stock, ensuring that our tenants have good quality, modern and comfortable homes.

"£1.6m is a huge investment and underscores our commitment in providing decent homes for our tenants in both rural and urban areas right across the province."

Mr and Mrs Blair from Mullaghboy Crescent said they are delighted with the improvements made to their home.

"We are very happy with the work and the way it was carried out. Everything looks so new and our kitchen is modern with more cupboards and storage space."

The contractor who carried out the improvement scheme was JFM Construction Ltd from Toomebridge.
