A new Cork Property Website chap.ie (Cork Homes and Properties) has been launched, with the backing of Tom Parlon, Director General of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF).
Established on behalf of the Cork branch of the CIF, 22 individual building companies have come together under the umbrella of www.chap.ie providing a one stop shop for potential homebuyers in Cork.
With almost 500 individual homes listed for sale, there is every type of home available for any would be buyer.
At the launch in Cork, Mr Parlon said: "The new website is both innovative and simple to use. What makes chap.ie so interesting is that you have so many properties on the one site and what makes it easy to navigate is the user friendly map and search facility.
"The map allows anybody interested in new homes in Cork to immediately see the listings in their own area, anywhere throughout Cork City or County.
"There is every type of home listed on the chap.ie and I know from speaking to CIF member companies that there is incredible value in the new homes market nationally and also locally here in Cork."
Tom Parlon was joined by Andy O'Gorman, CIF President, Joe O'Brien, CIF Director Southern Region and representatives from the 22 CIF companies involved in the website.
"Nationally all the evidence is pointing out that new house prices have fallen by as much as a third and this is certainly the case here in Cork." said Mr Parlon.
"With the significant mortgage interest rate cuts, affordability has improved significantly and with keenly priced new homes, I believe that buyers will decide to take a look at the options available to them. www.chap.ie provides that opportunity for those looking to buy in Cork."
