Flogas Announces Nationwide Expansion Plans

Construction News Image
Flogas has announced plans to roll out a natural gas service for commercial customers throughout Ireland, following a successful pilot launch in the North-East.

Nature's Best in Drogheda was its first customer and in the past six months, the company has saved 35% on its natural gas bills.

Established in 1987, Nature's Best employs over 200 people at its 60,000 square foot Louth factory.

Aside from central heating and hot water, natural gas is essential to the company's production process as it is used to run the key cooking and cleaning machines.

Declan Tolan, financial reporting manager at Nature's Best, said: "Because we make all of our products fresh to order, we work around the clock, seven days a week, to meet our customers' requirements.

"Any downtime would have a negative impact on our business so it was critical that there was no disruption during the changeover. But as the change was simply on paper there was absolutely no interruption in gas supply at all."

A leading LP Gas supplier, Flogas entered the natural gas market following its deregulation a few years ago, and has been supplying natural gas via the existing Bord Gais Energy Supply pipeline to over 11,000 homes in the North-East, Midlands and the West.

Richard Martin, Flogas Ireland Managing Director, said: "In these cost-cutting times, we're very pleased that Nature's Best has seen tangible benefits from the changeover to our natural gas service.

"Natural gas users now have a choice of suppliers and commercial customers switching to Flogas Natural Gas will save money by benefiting from a cheaper gas rate and thereby reducing their natural gas bills."
