Officials are said to be looking at the practicality of installing a new system at the 64 junction on Main Street.
It is believed the roundabout would replace the existing traffic lights in the area.
Speaking at last week's council meeting, Colin Webb asked for an update on the proposals for the busy junction, which were fist mooted in 2007.

"It's high time there was a roundabout put at the corner of the 64, and get the lights put out of it," said the councillor.
"We were told it couldn't be done in Ferns or Enniscorthy, and it worked," he added.
Councillor Kay O'Gorman said: "I don't know of any roundabout that doesn't work."
The National Roads Authority no longer has any control over the road.
Council engineer Barry Hammell said, in respect of this fact, he would assess whether it was possible to place a roundabout in the area.
