Litter Lift At Craigavon Estate

Residents living in Craigavon's Meadowbrook estate have taken part in a 'litter lift' campaign to brighten up their local area.

The project was organised by the NI Housing Executive, in conjunction with Craigavon Borough Council and Meadowbrook Residents Association, with the aim of improving the state of the housing district.

Community Liaison Officer Connor Smith said: "We have been working on this with local residents.


"The Housing Executive printed a leaflet which was distributed by the residents association encouraging local people to become involved.

"I would like to thank the Meadowbrook Residents Association and the local community who have got behind this 'litter lift' as well as Craigavon Borough Council who have supplied the skips," he added.

Pete Toland, Chairperson of the Meadowbrook Residents Association, said that he was delighted that the local residents have become involved in lifting litter.

"It is important for us at the local residents to take pride in our estate and I hope that following today’s event more people will keep the paths and gardens free of litter.

"It is important the entire community respect and value the environment," said Mr Toland.
