All of the homes, which are located in Grianan Drive, Shantallow Avenue, and Greenhaw Avenue and Crescent, are to undergo extensive modernisation work, which includes the refurbishment of kitchens and bathrooms and installation of gas central heating.
Electrical and plumbing services are also being upgraded along with a range of internal and external repairs and general maintenance.

Commenting on the completion of the first phase of the scheme, District Manager Kevin McDowell said: "This scheme is part of the Housing Executive's strategic approach to modernise its older stock, ensuring that our tenants have good quality and modern homes.
"Given the extent and nature of the work tenant consultation is a key factor during the planning stages and throughout the scheme.
"The particular needs of individual tenants are taken into account not only in relation to the work to their homes but also in sorting out the temporary housing arrangements," he added.
The contractor is James G O'Kane from Maghera and the Housing Executive has suggested the scheme could be completed by early next year.
