Bidding 'Advanced' For Lansdowne Naming

A number of high-profile bidders are hoping to name the new Lansdowne Road stadium, according to reports.

A decision on the naming of the development is expected next year - having already attracted the attention of massive firms such as O2, Eircom, Emirate Airlines and AIB.

Reports today suggest interested parties have entered into advanced talks with the Lansdowne Road Development Company (LRDC), the FAI and the IRFU over potential deal terms.

The stadium, being built by contractors SISK, is due for completion in April 2010.

Meanwhile in other news, international building materials group CRH has announced Liam O'Mahony is to continue as a non-executive director.

In May it was revealed Myles Lee, currently Group Finance Director, would take over from Liam O'Mahony as Group Chief Executive on 1 January 2009.

Mr O'Mahony has accepted an invitation to continue as a member of the Board of CRH plc in a non-executive capacity, the material giant said in a statement.
