The local city council will work with the Integrated Transportation Coordinating Group to provide a new outbound bus lane along the Dublin Road, as well as a number of other infrastructural developments.
It is hoped the the additional bus land will reduce journey times on the route.

The works are expected to create traffic disruption in the area, but Galway City Council, and its soon to be operational Galway Transportation Unit, have pledged to keep inconvenience to motorists, pedestrians and residents to a minimum.
Construction on the Dublin Road Bus Lane will commence this week, and work is scheduled to last for around 16 weeks.
The outbound bus lane will be developed from the French Roundabout to Duggan's Shop at the Renmore Road junction.
This initiative will also improve bus shelters together with pedestrian and cyclist facilities along the route. The work will also improve lighting, signage and landscaping on the Dublin Road.
