Wexford's footballing goalie, Anthony Masterson, will star in a different role next week when he launches a new business in Gorey.
Hayes & Boland Ltd Design Studios are an architectural and interior design company, specialising in domestic and commercial projects.
The new company, which is a huge boost to the confidence of the local economy, will be based at 4A, The Palms on The Avenue just off Gorey’s main street.
"We provide architecture and interior design for creative one-off house designs and extensions, hotel and leisure developments, commercial and industrial designs, and office building designs," said interior architect and designer Mary Boland, who will be working alongside senior architectural technician Stephen Hayes and architect Gaston Béhal.
The company also provides project management and submits planning applications to the relevant local authorities.
"Our commitment is based on cost-effective design solutions for the way you live or work today. Our designs are influenced by your ideals and the necessity for top-class energy-saving solutions."
Between them, the locally-based team brings almost 30 years' of experience to their new venture.
Stephen Hayes has worked on high-profile and large multi-storey schools, offices, apartments and domestic dwellings.
He has also researched different building systems and products to increase a building’s efficiency and reduce waste, and is SEI qualified to measure a building’s energy rating.
Mary Boland has been involved in interior design for over seven years, completing several domestic and commercial projects in Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford.
Her previous work includes designing valuable space planning solutions resulting in cost effective building designs, innovative one-off house designs, creative extensions, office/retail fit-out, industrial design, public houses and hotels.
Her latest project, just completed, involved the part refurbishment of the Riverside Park Hotel’s 60 bedrooms in Enniscorthy.
Award-winning architect Gaston Béhal has worked both in Ireland and abroad on large residential and commercial properties. To date, he has been involved in ESB-related work across Ireland.
"We’re bringing to Gorey and the South East a vibrant service, covering a mix of traditional and contemporary builds," said Ms Boland, adding that the company, already affiliated to the Gorey Chamber of Industry & Commerce, prides itself on customer service and satisfaction.
