Bray and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Councils have given the green light to revised proposals for the €2bn mixed-use Bray Town Centre development.

The scheme encompasses retail, office and leisure facilities, based in a prime town centre location.

The complex's revised plans also incorporates sea front living and designated community spaces.

Developer Pizarro Development submitted its redrafted plans for the development last October.

The new plans have introduced a LUAS line, a GGA and school into the schematics.

The Bray development will also install a new internal road system and additional car park access.

Plans are also afoot to link the town's DART station to a proposed LUAS line, by bridge.

The shops, eateries, apartments and parks, detailed in the project, have formed the backbone of the plans.

The new neighbourhood will be made up of 613 apartments, duplexes, community building, coffee shop and convenience store.

Open space will be provided with a central village green, a linear seaside park and community park.

A GAA pitch and two schools will be built on community lands.

Project Manager, Mary Bermingham, said: "We are delighted with the decision to grant planning permission following a close consultation process.

"In addition to the positive impact that this development will have on the town of Bray it also has the ability to bringing over €60 million in wages annually into the local area and whilst employing over 2,500 people.

"Building on this development is expected to start next year," she added.
