Objections to the proposed Dublin Central retail development, in the Irish capital, have been lodged by developers, politicians and retailers across the city.
So far 21 objections have been made against Joe O'Reilly's €1.25 billion retail and residential scheme.
The development, which is expected to include an impressive 50m high 'Park in the Sky' building, in the Henry Street area, has also made provisions for the redevelopment of the former Carlton cinema site on O'Connell Street
The scheme, which will stretch over 5.5 acres, is the most ambitious development of its kind on the north side of the city.
Main objections to the project have came from Treasury Holdings, An Taisce, city councillor Emer Costello and Joe Costello TD, the Irish Georgian Society, Dublin Transportation Office, Dublin Bus and the Save 16 Moore Street Committee.
An Taisce, in a complaint lodged to the city council, has deemed the retail scheme "seriously ill-conceived" in size. It has also been suggested the development would sit out of place with the surrounding area, and would detract from other iconic buildings such as the Spire and GPO.
A number of members of the Moore Street Traders Committee have expressed support for the scheme.
The planning application for the project was lodged by Joe O'Reilly in April. The plan offers consideration for a shopping and restaurant quarter, which would create two new streets, stretching over Henry Street to O'Connell Street and O'Connell Street to Moore Street.
