The project, which is UK and Ireland wide, has just seen the completion of its first environmentally friendly hotel in Luton, England.
Named The Hilton Garden Inn, the £16m scheme consists of a renewable energy biomass boiler and insulation from prefabricated units. The complex also has a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating; the world's most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings.

The Luton project comprises 157 guest rooms, restaurant, conference facilities, meeting rooms, bar and gym.
UK-based GB Building Solutions, through a joint venture with Oxford Hotels, undertook the contract to design and build the project.
Construction work started on the hotel last April using a prefabricated, modular system from Caledonian Building Systems. This practice enables the erection of the structure on-site to be completed within just 24 weeks.
Fuel consumption in the hotel is reduced through a renewable energy biomass boiler, which burns sustainable woodchip or wooden pellets.
The insulation provided by the prefabricated units helped the building achieve a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM environmental rating.
The Hilton group’s eco-concept is to be replicated in several similar developments across Ireland very soon.
