A Kilmacrenan-based PVC and aluminium manufacturer has been awared 'Donegal business of the year 2008' by the Donegal County Enterprise Board.
North West Aluminium, who provides roofline products for the construction sector, was selected from a short-list of 20 nominated companies. The final decision was based on financial success, innovation, growth, impact on the community and performance throughout the year.
The company, who are supplied by Freefoam Plastics, has created and marketed a range of products aimed at improving the lifetime of a roof.
Its innovative products secure roof tiles and slates on gable ends, eliminating the possibility of lifting by high winds and prevent rainwater causing damage to the roof underlay.
Holding the patents and copyrights for its own products have meant the firm has been able to successfully penetrate the Irish market, while devising a strategy to break into the UK.
Director of North West Aluminium Daniel Gallagher, who employs 12 staff, praised the contribution of supplier Freefoam: "We are delighted with our success at the awards. We work hard to ensure we keep our customer’s happy and Freefoam has been a great, reliable supplier."
"We chose Freefoam as our main supplier as they offer a wide range of different colours, styles and finishes. They also offer great customer support, a good quality product and unrivalled guarantees in their product ranges," he added.
North West Aluminium will now go forward to represent Donegal at the National Enterprise Awards in October.
