The projects are part of the Civic Structures Conservation Scheme, 2008.
Over 190 applications were received under the scheme, and an independent panel of conservation experts will rate them.

Announcing the funding, the Minister said he was "very excited" about the "diverse projects" funded up to €50,000 under this scheme.
He added: "Due to it's annual nature, the scheme has added impact as it allows many projects to phase their works over a number of years.
"The high level of community enthusiasm for heritage is evidenced by the number and variety of the buildings assisted."
A number of applications have been received to preserve existing or former church buildings, market houses, canal locks, former barracks, firestations, public monuments, bridges and schoolhouses.
