LTS First Aid Specialists, Chamber Buildings, North Street, Swords have just been awarded the prestigious designation of Irish Heart Foundation Training Site.
LTS First Aid Specialists, who moved offices to Swords in July 2007, are now offering Heartsaver AED training every Friday in Swords.
The course, which only takes half a day, consists of CPR instruction and training in the use of the defibrillator.
According to Maria Lalor, Managing Director and Senior Tutor of LTS First Aid Specialists, the training is uncomplicated.
"It's so easy, a child could use it. The classes are suitable for everyone, men, women or children in schools, offices, factories, sports clubs."
She also said that LTS are hoping that families and friends, groups of neighbours, schools, workmates and employers will join together and organise their training and perhaps buy a defibrillator which the company can supply.
Medical evidence suggests that the quicker treatment is obtained the greater the chance of saving a life.
The company asks "Why wait for an ambulance when you could start treatment straight away and save a colleague, family member or workmate's life yourself?", as the technology is there and the training available in Swords.
LTS First Aid Specialists was established by Maria Lalor who has been an occupational first aid instructor and examiner since 200.
Maria has also been involved in lifesaving for many years through the Royal Life Saving Society club she runs in Gormanston.
Although her own 'Baywatch' days are over Maria trained many of the lifeguards who have worked on the North Dublin, Meath and Louth beaches over the years.
LTS also trains nationwide for companies on an in-house basis and can supply Heartsaver AED training and Occupational First Aid for any company, organisation or school in North Dublin, Meath or Louth or any other location nationwide.
