Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau (BVCB) has published a new edition of the Belfast and Northern Ireland Conference, Meetings and Incentives Guide, designed to assist those planning to host major events here.
The guide, which is used extensively by association and meeting planners, corporate agents and event management companies, is just one of a number of tools provided by BVCB in the drive to increase conference and business tourism.
It provides extensive information on conferencing in Belfast, travel information and details on attractions throughout Northern Ireland including the Causeway Coast and Glens and the Fermanagh Lakelands.
Lisa McMurray, BVCB Communications Director, says that attracting conferences is essential to the continued development of tourism in Belfast and Northern Ireland.
"With the launch of this guide and through schemes such as the conference ambassador programme, we at BVCB work in partnership with other organisations to provide as much support and assistance as possible to those seeking to bring conference business into the city. Conferencing and business visitors are essential elements of the tourism mix and it is important that we use every tool at our disposal to encourage major events to come to Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland," Ms McMurray said.
Belfast will be hosting a number of high profile conferences over the coming years including the Inner Wheel Clubs of GB and Ireland's annual conference which will bring 2,000 delegates to the city in 2009, and the Sister Cities International conference which will be staged in Belfast in July and August 2009.
