Funding Boost For North Clare Group Water Scheme

The Irish Government has allocated CLÁR top-up funding of €22,895 to the Cloncoul Group Water Scheme near Ennistymon.

Minister of State Tony Killeen welcomed the allocation and described it as an important contributory factor to the revitalisation of the rural North Clare townland.

He explained: "The allocation of funding for the improvement of vital infrastructure such as water services enables individual developments to proceed. In this case, three households will benefit from the scheme improvements with savings of €7,632 per household. This brings to 642 the number of domestic connections that have been approved funding from CLÁR in Clare from 2002 to date under this scheme.


"The allocation of almost €23k will enable a total value of works amounting to €45,751 to be carried out. The remaining amount will be paid by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and by private contribution from the Group members.”

Today's announcement was made by Éamon Ó Cuív, Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
