Chartered Celebration For Co Antrim Company

Martin & Hamilton (Ballymena) have been awarded Chartered Building Company status by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) - one of only eight construction firms chartered under the industry body in Northern Ireland.

This accreditation recognises professionalism and quality workmanship in the contracts completed by the contractor. This award is cause for a double celebration as the firm celebrates 40 years service this year in the construction industry in Northern Ireland.

CIOB Chartered Building Company status identifies those businesses that are committed to quality of service, integrity of conduct and concern for clients' needs and only businesses that are led by Chartered professionals can achieve this status.

Commenting on this success David Hamilton, Managing Director, said: "We are delighted to call ourselves a Chartered Building Company under the CIOB. It is rewarding to be recognised for client satisfaction as we have always worked hard to build our reputation upon delivering quality and value in all our projects."

David was also one of the first in the Province to undertake the CIOB Direct Membership Examination (DMX) almost 14 years ago through Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). The DMX (now known as Experienced Practitioner Assessment programme) EPA is the experienced route to becoming a CIOB Corporate Member and since gaining his own personal Chartered status David has been involved in developing his own staff and encouraging them to become Chartered Builders leading to this accreditation.

Speaking on this success Allan McMullen, CITB Chief Executive and CIOB Past President, said: "CIOB is the leading professional body for managers in construction. To gain Chartered Builder status highlights the dedication and commitment that Martin and Hamilton have given to the industry over the past 40 years. It is a fantastic achievement which demonstrates the professionalism of the individuals and of the organisation."
