Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Plan Expo, Ireland’s international construction industry showcase, will be placing particular focus on sustainable building methods and renewable energy with an entire section dedicated to Eco Build.
Attracting approximately 7,000 construction industry professionals, the exhibition takes place from 8-10 November 2007 in the RDS, Dublin.
Eco Build is the natural progression from last year’s Sustainable Technologies Pavilion, and will see a large section of the hall dedicated to low environmental impact options to improve the performance of buildings in Ireland. Plan Expo will celebrate 25 years of innovation at this year’s show with a conference looking ahead at the challenges the Irish Construction industry will face over the next 25 years as the impacts of climate change and dwindling fossil fuels take hold.
Eco Build will provide a focal area for information gathering on the latest in sustainable building with top industry speakers on site to provide recommendations on the legislative and business challenges ahead.
Garret Buckley, Joint Managing Director, Expo-Events, said: "The construction industry has been turned on its head in recent years with environmental and subsequent legislative issues dictating its development. As an information centre to address these issues such as waste reduction and alternative energy resources and provide solutions, the Sustainable and Renewable technologies feature last year was extremely well received.
"Eco Build will quite literally build on that success this year with an even bigger section offering a wealth of information about how these topical issues are affecting the construction industry and what can be done to help resolve them."
