A South Dublin park has officially opened following the completion of extensive upgrades.
The Quarryvale Park project was a collective effort between contractor Breffni Group Ltd, the Public Realm Section of South Dublin County Council, Nicholas de Jong Associates Landscape and Urban Design Consultants, who carried out the planning, design and project management.
Improvements to the park included new park entrances, a teen space featuring a full calisthenics workout area, a natural playground, relocated kick about area and new illuminated pathways.
Additionally, soft landscaping and biodiversity enhancements including the planting of mature trees and meadow grass areas have been added.
Speaking at the opening of the park, Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr Baby Pereppadan, said: "Quarryvale Park has been transformed into a welcoming, secure and thriving neighbourhood park designed to meet the growing needs of the community."
Cllr Pereppadan also took the time to thank the local community and elected members for their support and contribution towards the design and construction of the space before cutting the ribbon to officially open the park.
