The Department of Transport, in association with Mayo County Council and Galway County Council, are formulating proposals for a Relief Road Scheme which will benefit Cong Village.
The study area identified for the project spans the county boundary between Mayo and Galway with significant footprint in both counties.
The project is currently at the start of Phase 2 – Options Selection and as a first step, public comments and feedback are being sought which will play a crucial role in shaping the next stage.

A burst on a water main in Mallow, County Cork, has successfully been repaired by Uisce Éireann.
Repairs were carried out following a major burst on a raw water main supplying the Mallow Water Treatment Plant at Ballyellis. Raw water is flowing again allowing full production at the plant to resume.
