Collective Efforts To Return Power To Monaghan Water Treatment Plants

Construction News Image
Crews from Uisce Éireann and ESB Networks are engaging in a joint effort to return power to water treatment plants and pumping stations across County Monaghan following the impact of Storm Éowyn.

Thus far, power has been restored to the Smithborough Water Supply Scheme and a generator has been deployed to Newbliss Water Supply Scheme.

Peadar McGuinness, Uisce Éireann said: "Uisce Éireann crews and ESB Networks are continuing to work together to restore power to all areas so that production of treated water can recommence as quickly and as safely as possible."

Uisce Éireann has reminded customers to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure, as per advice from the Health Service Executive, which they understand is a challenge at this time.
