Construction News Image
Significant improvement works carried out by GMC Utilities Group Ltd have been completed to the wastewater network in Turnapin in County Dublin, Uisce Éireann has announced.

The upgrades will enable the delivery of essential housing in the suburb of Santry as part of Uisce Éireann's national Growth and Development Programme.

It will also improve the operational performance of the existing wastewater infrastructure, ensuring a more resilient service for the community.

Works involved the installation of 400m of new sewerage pipes at Turnapin Lane and Turnapin Grove, and upgrades to the existing Turnapin Wastewater Pump Station.

"These upgrades are essential to enable future economic and social development of the Santry area," said Uisce Éireann's Padraig Hanly.

"Now completed, this project will increase the capacity of the wastewater network, bringing tangible benefits to the community and the environment in facilitating future demand and reducing the risk of sewer flooding in the area."
