MDE has been awarded the electrical services contract for the Clondalkin School Development Project in Dublin.
Working alongside Cunningham Contracts Ltd., the company will serve as the specialist electrical contractor for the construction of new facilities for Gaelscoil na Camóige, Gaelscoil Chluain Dolcáin, and Coláiste Chillian.
Transformative School Development
The Clondalkin School Development Project involves the construction of two 16-classroom primary schools, Gaelscoil na Camóige and Gaelscoil Chluain Dolcáin, as well as a modern physical education (PE) hall for Coláiste Chillian. The PE Hall will enhance the secondary school’s facilities while doubling as a community space for local sports and events.
In addition to the new buildings, significant site developments are planned, including the creation of two access routes, upgraded road infrastructure, and a one-way traffic system designed to streamline drop-off and pick-up procedures. This infrastructure aims to reduce congestion and improve safety for students, families, and staff.
Coláiste Chillian will remain operational throughout the construction, while Gaelscoil Chluain Dolcáin will transition to the new buildings upon the project's completion, creating a more cohesive and efficient learning environment.
MDE's Role
As the appointed electrical contractor, MDE will be responsible for delivering reliable and high-quality electrical solutions across the new facilities. The company's scope of work includes:
• Installing electrical systems for two 16-classroom schools and the PE hall.
• Integrating systems for classrooms, administrative offices, and specialised spaces.
• Providing exterior lighting and security systems to ensure safe access.
• Delivering power solutions to support the upgraded traffic and road infrastructure.
MDE plans to begin on-site work in May 2025, aligning with the project’s timeline.
A Community-Focused Project
This contract represents a significant milestone for MDE, reflecting the company’s expertise in large-scale educational projects. The Clondalkin School Development is set to make a lasting impact on the community by enhancing educational resources and improving infrastructure for students, educators, and families alike.
