South Dublin Development Scoops Housing Award

A South Dublin housing development was among the winners of this year's National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards.

Brady's Court, Old Bawn, the South Dublin County Council development, claimed the Age Friendly Housing Award at the recent event which was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin.

Designed by SDCC Architects and implemented on site by a design team led by O’BFA Architects, Brady's Court are purpose-built, energy efficient homes intended to support long-term independent living and future adaptation where necessary.

The development also integrates communal spaces for residents to foster social connections and reduce isolation.

The Age Friendly Housing Award celebrates excellence in social housing development that addresses the unique needs of our aging population.

Brady's Court, Old Bawn represents thoughtful urban planning, prioritising accessibility, safety and community engagement for residents.

This innovative approach ensures that the development not only meets the physical needs of older residents but also supports their health and social well-being.

Colm Ward, Chief Executive of South Dublin County Council, said: "Winning the Age Friendly Housing award for our development at Brady’s Field, Old Bawn, recognises our commitment to the continued development of high-quality housing developments across the County.

"It is great to achieve this prestigious award for our age-friendly development that offer our older citizens access to high quality, secure and accessible homes.
