The funding, approved by Minister for State Thomas Byrne under the Large Scale Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF), will enable the start of construction on a new, state-of-the-art stadium at the historic site.
The project will see Dalymount Park transformed into a modern, UEFA Category 3 stadium with a capacity of 8,000. Plans include a four-sided enclosed stadium with a sand-based grass pitch, as well as a new community facility featuring a multi-functional community room and a community gym over two floors. The redevelopment will involve the demolition of the existing structure to create a purpose-built venue for Bohemian F.C. and the surrounding community.

Senator Fitzpatrick hailed the announcement as a "momentous day" for Bohemian F.C., Phibsborough, and the Irish football community. "This allocation of €24.7 million means that construction can now commence, fulfilling a long-awaited vision for Dalymount Park," she stated. "Dalymount is not only the home of Bohs but a cherished landmark for the local community and our capital city.
"This redevelopment has been in the works for a long time. Congratulations are due to everyone who worked tirelessly to make it possible. This is a transformative project for Phibsborough, and I look forward to supporting it through to completion.”
The redevelopment of Dalymount Park is anticipated to breathe new life into Phibsborough, enhancing local infrastructure and providing a top-tier sports and community venue that will benefit residents and fans alike.
