A planning application for a new residential development in Ballyclare has been approved. The development, located west of Huntingdale Green and southeast of Ballyclare Cemetery, will comprise 56 homes, including a mix of detached and semi-detached properties.

The approved plans include provision for garages, landscaping, and vehicular access. The development's boundary will be softened with railings and open-plan frontages, creating a visually appealing transition to the surrounding area.

This development is expected to contribute to the local housing market and enhance the community of Ballyclare.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Neil Kelly commented on the planning approval, granted by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council's planning committee: "This development aims to create a well-integrated and visually appealing residential area in a prime location in Ballyclare. This will attract new residents and importantly, will increase footfall to our town centres."

Chair of the Planning Committee, Councillor Jeannie Archibald-Brown commented: "This is welcome news and will help satisfy growing demand for homes in the Borough, which is a much sought after place to live, invest and work. This expansion will provide much-needed accommodation options for our residents, ensuring that our community remains vibrant and inclusive."
