Repair Work Continues On Burst Water Main In Balbriggin

Construction News Image
Repair work is continuing on a burst water main impacting supply in Balbriggan, Co Dublin this morning, Monday, October 28.

Due to the temporary water outage there may be some impact to the supply in Balscadden, Flemington Park, Flemington Lane and surrounding areas. Low pressure will be experienced by all in the areas listed, while those on higher ground will experience loss of supply.

An alternative water supply in the form of a bulk tanker has been arranged and will be in place at Flemington Park from this morning. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

Uisce Éireann is endeavouring to return supply as quickly as possible and also protect the water supply to priority customers which can include nursing homes, schools and hospitals.

Uisce Éireann regrets any inconvenience caused by this disruption.

Tselopile Tlou, Uisce Éireann's Water Network Operations Manager, said: "Every effort will be made to reduce the impact and restore the water supply as quickly as possible. We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during the works."
