Work Almost Complete On €50m Wastewater Project

Work is almost complete the €50 million project to upgrade the wastewater infrastructure for Ramelton, Milford and Rathmullan.

In early 2025 Uisce Éireann will have put an end to the discharge of raw sewage into the Leannan Estuary, Lough Swilly and Maggie's Burn.

The works safeguard the environment, however they will support social and economic development allowing the communities of Ramelton, Milford and Rathmullan to thrive.

At this stage, the construction team has completed much of the new sewer pipelines, underground wastewater storage tanks and associated pump houses.

Significant progress has also been made on the construction of the Tirroddy Wastewater Treatment Plant with the mechanical and electrical fit out ongoing.

Works to finalise the project will continue over the coming months with Uisce Éireann’s Portfolio Manager Paul Fallon looking forward to delivering this beneficial project for the coastal communities.
