IG Masonry Support has played a crucial role in creating the striking exterior of the new NYX Hotel in Portobello, Dublin. The €40 million boutique hotel, designed by John Fleming Architects, features a distinctive façade of brick, stone, and metal that complements the local Georgian architecture.
Stewart Construction partnered with IG Masonry Support to develop custom masonry support systems that would meet the complex design requirements of the project. The systems had to accommodate vents, protruding concrete nibs, and unusual slab edge designs while ensuring the integrity of the façade.
IG Masonry Support's technical team worked closely with Stewart Construction to design and manufacture products that met the specific needs of the project. These included Welded Masonry Support systems, Masonry Support Corners, B.O.S.S. (Brick on Soffit System), Brick Slip Lintels, and Windposts.
Rory Harte, Contracts Manager at Stewart Construction, praised IG Masonry Support for their technical expertise and support: "IG Masonry Support's technical team was instrumental in ensuring that the design development process ran smoothly. Their expertise and support were invaluable."
The NYX Hotel is a testament to IG Masonry Support's ability to deliver innovative and high-quality masonry support solutions for complex projects. The completed hotel is a standout destination on the Grand Canal and contributes to the vibrant waterfront scene in Dublin.
