Cork County Council is inviting applications for new two and three bedroom houses at Tir Cluain, Midleton, starting at 12 noon on Monday, 2 September 2024, which are being offered at a discounted rate.

The development features 13 A-rated family homes in a highly desirable location, within walking distance of Midleton Train Station and the town's Main Street. Built by O'Mahony Developments, these homes will primarily be available to first-time buyers who do not currently own a home (with a few exceptions) and Fresh Start Applicants.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Joe Carroll said: "Cork County Council is delighted to announce the launch of this Affordable Housing Scheme in Midleton. The development at Tir Cluain is superbly situated in this popular residential area just a short walk from Midleton’s town centre and all its amenities. This new scheme demonstrates the work that Cork County Council is doing in achieving the targets set by the government."

Under the Scheme, buyers will enter into an affordable housing purchase agreement with Cork County Council. The Council will retain a percentage equity share in the property, which represents the difference between the market value and the purchase price, expressed as a percentage of the market value (with a minimum of 5%).

Chief Executive of Cork County Council, Moira Murrell added: "The launch of these 13 houses, provided by the Council under the Affordable Scheme will provide a further supply of high-quality homes for eligible applicants."

Applications for the scheme will be accepted between 12 noon on the 2nd of September 2024 and 12 noon on the 23rd of September 2024 via the online application portal on the Affordable Housing section of the council's website.
