Progress Made On GRAHAM's Tree Planting Target

GRAHAM has announced that its tree planting target remains on track, with over 6,000 trees planted by 120 volunteers in hedgerows, new landscape-scale forests and urban greening projects since January 2022.

In 2021, the Board at GRAHAM approved a corporate target to plant one tree, per employee, every year with the help of GRAHAM volunteers as a tangible way of addressing the climate emergency.


GRAHAM collaborates with local knowledge and expertise in its tree planting initiatives. Partnerships with organisations like The Woodland Trust, The Conservation Volunteers and The Clyde Forest ensure trees are planted in suitable locations, with tailored maintenance plans to ensure the success of each planting scheme.

Trees provide a wide range of interconnected benefits. They act as cooling and water management systems, store carbon, enhance air quality, support nature recovery and significantly contribute to the health and wellbeing of local communities.

Tree planting is in addition to any which may occur as enhancement on GRAHAM's projects and any current carbon offsetting arrangements in place.
