Dublin City Council has appointed Scott Tallon Walker Architects, in partnership with OKRA, as the lead designers for the College Green Dame Street Public Realm Project.

This project aims to transform the historic city core into a welcoming, safe, and vibrant pedestrian-friendly space at the heart of Dublin City. It prioritises universal accessibility, social inclusion, safety, sustainability, biodiversity and greening, while restoring and enhancing the unique history and heritage of the area. The project spans from South Great Georges Street to Trinity College.

The appointment of Scott Tallon Walker Architects with OKRA is the result of a two-stage EU procurement competition, which attracted significant international interest with submissions from Ireland, the UK, the USA and Europe. Dublin City Council in conjunction with the newly appointed Design Team will bring the project through the various project stages including stakeholder engagement, design, planning and construction.

Scott Tallon Walker Architects, in collaboration with OKRA, will lead a multi-disciplinary team that includes Roughan & O'Donovan Consulting Engineers with Civic Engineers, Avison Young, Doyle Kent Planning Consultants, Howley Hays Cooney Conservation Architects, and Linesight Quantity Surveyors.

To reimagine the city core is to see beyond what is and envision what could be. This Team will work to develop a place-making design that will transform College Green into a vibrant and sustainable hub at the heart of the city. This is a goal that can be achieved through thoughtful planning and collaboration between Dublin City Council, the new Design Team and the city stakeholders. I look forward to following the design process and to the exciting prospect of the end result."
