Construction News Image
Uisce Éireann is currently carrying out essential maintenance works on the Gerrardstown Reservoir today, 12 June.

Customers served by the Kilcarn Public Water Supply in Oldtown, Gerrardstown, Gillstown, Corballis, Clonardran, Philpotstown, Lismullen, Monktown, Cusackstown, Slanduff, and surrounding areas may experience a water outage, low pressure, and/or water discoloration due to work scheduled until 6pm tonight.

Following works, it can take two to three hours for normal water supply to return to all customers as the network replenishes.

Uisce Éireann’s Michael Cunniffe explained that these scheduled maintenance works are necessary to continue to provide a safe and reliable water supply to customers. He said: "We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during these essential works."

If discoloration occurs, it may be intermittent and take up to 48 hours to clear across the network. Uisce Éireann recommends running the kitchen tap for a few minutes to see if the water returns to a clear colour.
