Fibrus has announced that it has exceeded its 80,000 customer milestone, as it gains over 50,000 customers in just one year.
The broadband provider burst on to the scene to transform the digital infrastructure of rural and regional areas of Northern Ireland and has shaken up the market due to its rollout of its high-speed Full Fibre network, affordable packages and award-winning local customer service.
Since its first connection in Dundrum on 01 November 2019, Fibrus has expanded its reach to over 127 towns and villages throughout Northern Ireland and mainland UK. Notably, Omagh and Coleraine stand out as among the most connected towns, while the milestone of welcoming its 80,000th customer was achieved with Cookstown joining the network.
A key part of this reported growth has been driven by Project Stratum. Fibrus secured the Government contract in November 2020, tasked with improving connectivity for premises in the most remote areas of Northern Ireland unable to access broadband services of 30 Megabits per second (Mbps).
Dominic Kearns, co-founder and CEO of Fibrus, said: "Reaching our 80,000th customer is a brilliant milestone, and with that bringing our customer penetration to 24% across our network, is a very proud moment for myself and the Fibrus team.
"It is evidence of how much momentum is building around the Fibrus brand, but our mission goes beyond connecting customers. Our full fibre broadband changes the lives of people in rural communities, giving them more choice on where to live and work thanks to a fast and reliable broadband service.
"For us, it’s also about investing and giving back to the communities we operate in through community donations and local grassroots sponsorships."
