The works which start this week are expected to be completed by the end of May and will provide a more reliable water supply and reduce high levels of leakage.
The section of works will take place from the junction of the N25 with the R740 to the outskirts of Rosslare at Mauritiustown. The works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply.

Joe Carroll, Uisce Éireann said: "Old and damaged water mains remain a huge source of leakage and continue to impact communities right across County Wexford, causing low pressure and supply disruption. Replacing these old water mains in poor condition in Rosslare will eliminate existing leaks and significantly reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground.
"This essential work is part of a significant investment by Uisce Éireann to improve the water network across the country, prioritising investment where it is needed most enabling these communities to thrive."
