dlr Welcomes Extensive Feedback On Finsbury Park Proposal

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (dlr) County Council has welcomed a series of community engagement activities as part of the concept design for a play space in Finsbury Park, Dundrum and Kilcross, Sandyford.

The council undertook a dedicated consultation sessions and workshops for community members, local groups and schools to share their ideas and feedback.

The consultation aimed to engage with the community, to gather ideas and local insight, to form the basis of the new playground design.


The response from the public in relation to this was generally positive. Analysis of the feedback received, indicates that the majority of respondents, were in favour of the addition of play facilities to Kilcross and Finsbury Park. Based on this positive feedback, it is proposed to proceed with the siting of a local playground in Kilcross and Finsbury Park, and to provide a new enclosed play space, including toddler play, for ages 0-5 and 6-11.

The feedback received will help create a brief and specification for the playgrounds to be tendered out to design and build, during 2024.
