Mivan has selected the Gaitway Organisation as its charity partner for 2024.
Employees chose to support the charity's mission to help children and young people aged two to 25 grappling with mobility challenges. The partnership, spanning one year, will highlight Mivan's steadfast commitment to fostering fundraising initiatives and volunteering opportunities among its workforce. Already underway, a robust calendar of events and activities promises to galvanize support and generate vital funds.
The Gaitway Organisation provides essential services, offering local therapy sessions and facilitating overseas treatments using the Andras Peto method. Their approach goes beyond physical advancement, incorporating emotionally rewarding outings and social engagements.
Mivan welcomed Gaitway and showed them around our large manufacturing facility. Then, we kicked off the first fundraising event, the Mivan annual Bake Off competition. Nigel Magee won first prize with his delicious Pecan Cake, and Mark Sands got the People's Choice Award for his tasty Millionaire shortbread. Next up, they're gearing up for the Belfast Marathon, where Mivan plans to have 5 relay teams, aiming to make a big impact.
Shorlagh McConville, Mivan’s Business Development Manager and Chairperson of the Health, Wellbeing, and Social Committee, expressed enthusiasm, said: "At Mivan, we’re wholeheartedly dedicated to supporting our local communities and charities, which is why we’re thrilled to announce our charity partnership with Gaitway. We understand the pivotal role businesses play in driving impactful and meaningful change to enhance the lives of those in our local communities. Through volunteering, fundraising, and leveraging our specialised in-house expertise, we’re committed to extending our support to this wonderful organisation. Together, we’re focused on not only strengthening community bonds but also making a tangible and lasting difference where it’s needed most."
Coirle Butler, Fundraising Director at Gaitway Organisation, stated: "Everyone at Gaitway is delighted to hear that we have been chosen as Mivan’s charity partner for the next year. Ultimately, we want to open a dedicated centre to provide therapy all year round to all that need it, I think Mivan can help us on that journey. We all look forward to a successful partnership and thanks for your support."
