Carroll Estimating Picks Eque2's EValuate Software To Help Its Business

Construction News Image
Leading Irish contractors' quantity surveying and estimating company, Carroll Estimating, has chosen Eque2's EValuate construction estimating software to help its business across Ireland and the UK.

The software will support the company's growing team of expert estimators provide cutting edge tender and cost management support to contractors and developers.

Carroll Estimating supports construction contractors to better understand their tender and construction costs by acting as a 'one stop quantity surveying and estimating shop' from tender to final completion.

By implementing Eque2's EValuate it will help to efficiently produce accurate and consistent tenders, and track budgets and costs effectively against projects, both pre and post contract.

Carroll Estimating saw the need to switch from an old on-site system to cloud-based software for a flexible work model. EValuate will speed up tendering by giving instant access to information, whether team members are in the office or on-site with customers.

It will also improve accuracy by linking EQUE2's takeoff tool directly into EValuate's core functionality. Fast, accurate on-screen takeoffs can be performed from all file types, with enhanced CAD drawing and BIM model functionality available. With live links between the Dim sheet and the Takeoff this enables amendments and revisions to automatically update the bill.

Patrick Carroll, Director at Carroll Estimating said: "We chose EValuate for its ability to ensure fast, accurate, consistent tenders and how user friendly it is. Our surveyors and estimators will now be able to instantly share important information with each other from wherever they are working, providing greater flexibility and collaboration across the entire Carroll Estimating team, with the ultimate benefit being felt by our customers.

"Construction companies are nearly always up against the clock when it comes to estimating; EValuate will speed up our processes whilst ensuring we have the best practices in place to save our customers time and money. Getting rid of unnecessary excel spreadsheets when comparing prices, for example, will not only make our lives easier but will also reduce the chance of any human error. We will be able to amalgamate the data from multiple sources into one cloud-based software solution. EValuate will enable us to instantly pull on all this new and historic data via our customised pricing and placement libraries.

"We don’t just help contractors win projects. We support them all the way through to the finish, providing a team of expert estimators and quantity surveyors for less than the cost of one employee. We make sure that everything is priced down to the last nail and believe there is nothing like boots on the ground to achieve that, which means we are often out at customer sites. We couldn’t do all this without the right technology, like EValuate, supporting us in the background."

Jon Black, Head of Product Management, Eque2 stated: "EValuate enables users to produce Bills of Quantities manually or populate them with content from previous jobs, templates, or libraries. It also has the functionality to allow users to import Bills of Quantities from Excel, price them up, then export back into the original Excel format with the rates populated."
