Power NI has announced a new partnership with Tyrone GAA which means that the energy supplier will become an official sponsor of the Red Hand county's Men’s football and hurling teams.
The announcement aligns with the start of the 2024 Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues, where the four time All Ireland senior men's winners are looking to replicate their previous success and the hurlers will be stepping on to the pitch with their new coach.
Power NI has recently supported Tyrone GAA with an LED lighting upgrade at O'Neill's Healy Park in Omagh through the energy supplier's Lighting Solutions scheme. The aim was to not only improve the health and safety for players and spectators, but also to become a greener facility, improving sustainability.
Since the upgrade, Tyrone GAA has successfully reduced its stadium energy consumption by over 60 per cent.
John Edgar, Key Account Manager at Power NI stated:
"At Power NI we take pride in helping to empower local communities and do our bit to support clubs and associations at a grassroots level across Northern Ireland. We are delighted to sponsor Tyrone GAA’s football and hurling teams and look forward to the season ahead. Whilst the county is renowned as a force in football, Tyrone has an exciting up and coming hurling squad and we’re thrilled to help foster emerging local talent.
"Many of our Omagh-based staff members are big Tyrone fans and there’s a great deal of excitement surrounding our new partnership. We recently collaborated with the association to upgrade the LED lighting at Healy Park, helping the county in their aims to be more sustainable."
Martin Sludden, Chairperson of the Tyrone GAA County Board said:
"We are delighted to welcome Power NI onboard as the Official Energy Supplier of Tyrone GAA for the next three years. They proudly join our growing list of brand partners in supporting the development of Gaelic games across our county.
"In recent months, through the Lighting Solutions Scheme, we have undertaken a LED lighting upgrade at Healy Park, and hope to complete a similar upgrade to our Centre of Excellence in Garvaghey in the near future. Working closely with Power NI will bring the benefit of schemes such as this to our clubs and members throughout the county."
