Minister Announces Resurfacing Scheme For A2 Groomsport

Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has announced that works will begin on a £460,000 resurfacing scheme for the A2 Groomsport Road Roundabout on Monday 19 February 2024.

The project will resurface the Groomsport Road Roundabout and nearby areas with new asphalt.

Minister O'Dowd said:

"I am pleased to announce that this road improvement scheme represents a significant investment of £460,000 in the North Down area. This work will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of road for the benefit of all who use it.


"The investment demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities.”

"I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."

In order to facilitate the works it will be necessary to implement an initial phase of lane closures for preparatory works to be carried out in advance of the resurfacing from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. The works will begin on 19 February and are expected to be completed by 29 March 2024.
