Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris TD has announced that Mr Terry Landers has been appointed to Skillnet Ireland's Board of Directors.
Mr Landers who was nominated on 8 February 2024, will serve a three-year term until 7 February 2027.
Skillnet Ireland, which is funded by the National Training Fund, aims to encourage more companies to participate in enterprise training to improve the skills of their workforce and offer workers better access to skill development opportunities.
Minster Harris said: "This nomination brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Skillnet Ireland. I am delighted to nominate Mr. Landers and I wish him well in the important work ahead for Skillnet Ireland as the Government’s workforce development agency.
"Skillnet Ireland plays a significant role in our skills ecosystem. Ireland’s international reputation as an innovative, agile and high-performing economy is critically dependent on the quality of its workforce. This demands a robust and durable supply of talent and highly skilled workers.
"As the workforce development agency, Skillnet Ireland will expand our engagement with companies and build on partnerships with the tertiary sector to ensure the supply of highly skilled workers are equipped with the essential skills, knowledge and capabilities for a world of work being transformed by technology."
