The draft Regeneration Framework outlines the primary obstacles confronting Newtownstewart Town Centre and proposes actionable steps moving forward. These measures aim to enhance its economic, social, and environmental prosperity over the next five to ten years.

Ruairi McHugh, Chair of Council’s Environment & Regeneration Committee, said:

"Ahead of this consultation, Council has conducted detailed research and analysis as well as engagement with key local stakeholders and government agencies in terms of identifying the challenges facing the health and vitality of the town centre, and recommendations for how some of these challenges can be addressed.

"Council and its partners remain committed to using its best endeavours to secure the necessary resources to assist with the delivery of this Framework, however we need the feedback and opinions from local residents and businesses ahead of the next step in the action plan. I would encourage everyone to get involved and have their say on this upcoming project, and we thank you all in advance for offering those valuable thoughts and suggestions."

The consultation will close at 4.00 pm on 11 March 2024.
