Views Sought On Plans For Finglas Travel Scheme

Construction News Image
Dublin City Council has invited the public to share their views on plans for the Finglas Village Improvement Scheme.

The scheme, which is part of the City Council's Active Travel Network, will provide high quality walking, cycling and public transport facilities within Finglas Village along Seamus Ennis Road (between the junction with North Road and Clune Road). Major public improvements will take place including new pavements, seating, signalised pedestrian and cycle crossings, soft landscaping and upgraded bus stops.

Throughout the Active Travel Network programme its existing 10 kilometres will grow to a connected network of 310 kilometres across the city. This will enhance quality of life by improving access, connectivity and sustainable mobility for all, whilst reducing transport-related carbon emissions.

The proposals can be viewed and submissions are welcome on Dublin City Council's website.

Copies of proposed plans will also be available for inspection from 12 February to 15 March 2024 at Ballymun Library and Finglas Library.

A public information day is being held on 29 February at Dublin City Council, Sport & Fitness Centre on the Mellowes Road where members of the community are invited to drop in to view the project proposals and meet the design team.

Submissions in relation to these proposals may be made online, by email or in writing.
