Farrans Construction To Replace Castlebar's Old Water Pipes

Farrans Construction has been appointed to replace old water pipes in Castlebar which will reduce high levels of leakage.

Crews will begin the project in Fortfield before making their way to Harmony Heights with almost 500 metres of new pipes to be laid.

The works are part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme and will guarantee customers a more reliable water supply.


Uisce Éireann's Enda Mac Namara said: "Replacing these pipes in two of Castlebar’s residential areas will give homes confidence in their water supply into the future. Our team will be on site within days and ensure minimum disruption to locals.

"We thank the local community in Castlebar for their support as we work to bring them a more dependable water supply."

Uisce Éireann has said that if the works require some short-term water interruptions the project team will give a minimum of 48 hours' notice prior to any planned interruptions.

Works are expected to be complete by February 2024.
