The essential works are due to commence in early November and are set to be completed by mid-December. Once completed customers will enjoy an improved water supply with less disruption due to bursts and leakage.
Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, Jack Cronin said: "This project is another example of the significant investment programme by Uisce Éireann to improve the water network in Cork, prioritising investment where it is needed most and enabling these communities to thrive. "Traffic management will be in place in the form of a road closure from the Ovens Bar to the junction with Killumney Road. Traffic lights will be in place from the junction of Killumney Road to the junction with Caseys Road. Additional details in relation to the traffic management plan will be communicated locally. Local and emergency traffic will always be maintained."
Uisce Éireann has said that the works may involve some short-term water interruptions and the project team will give customers 48 hours notice prior to any planned disruption.
